Spruce Up A Black Track Jacket!

Hi ALL! :) I'm sorry I've been gone for the past 3 days! I've just been so busy lately. Summer is fun though, because you can just laze around and not feel guilty about it. Although I do have some lame Summer homework to do....yuck right? :P. Anyway, today's blog is about how you can turn an ordinary black track jacket looking more bold and bright in case you want that extra pop of color. The ways you can do it is: Take a bright tank top (my fav is teal) and layer it undo your jacket. Also adding a small silver necklace with a small pendant is nice too. :)

A Little Way To Treat Yourself!

Hi Everyone, today I had a wonderful day in NYC with my cousin. She recently got an apartment there, and we had a great girls day painting our nails, eating dinner, and getting frozen yogurt (yum!).
Todays blog is going to be about a small way to pamper yourself.

- Give yourself a pedicure and manicure! French tips are the best, and so simple! Here are the steps to getting a perfect french tip.
Supplies: Clear nail polish, transparent light pink nail polish, rounded tape to put on the edge of your nails, white nail polish..
Step 1: Apply the rosy/transparent nail polish color on your nails.
Step 2: Put the tape however far down you want your white tip to be.
Step 3: Paint your tips with matte, white nail polish.
Step 4: Apply a clear coat.

Essentials: White T-Shirt

Hey Lovelies! It is a stormy & rainy day, and I'm going crazy! I want to go out, but don't want to be rained on :(. Anyway, today's blog is gonna be about an essential item to have in your closet for this year..and it is a Plain White T-Shirt (preferably v-neck). There are SO many ways to accessorize a simple white t-shirt, and still look stylish. Here is my favorite way to dress up a white t-shirt.
This is one of my favorite White T-shirts.

A light pink scarf goes extremely well with a plain white tee. Just throw on some boots, and dark wash jeans and you're set to go!

Favorite Summer Nail Polish (for Toes & Nails)

Hi My Loves! WOW! My hair is completely freaking out from this humidity. I swear, it is like over 100 degrees! Anyway, this blog today is about what I have been lately wearing as a toe nail polish, and on my fingers. The colors match so well together since they are different shades of pink. They also look stunning on tanned skin.  I tend to like soft/pastels/neutrals on my nails, and bright, bold colors for my toes. That is why these colors together create a perfect look!

- What I use on my toes: Essie's Nail Polish in: ''Cute as a Button'' It is this bright, bold shade of coral pink.

What I Use On My Fingers: OPI's ''Sweetheart'' Which is a soft, matte baby pink shade. Which also contrasts well with a bright coral color.

- I hope you guys enjoyed this blog, and are ready for bright and neutral Summer colors!

Little Tips: Concealer as Brightener

Hi All! Here's a little money saver tip that I've come up with. So, as you all know most people like to use what they call: ''brighteners'' as a highlight under your brow bone, and in your inner corners. I have found that buying a separate eye shadow, or highlight color can get pretty pricey! (even up to $20). So I've come up with a free way to use makeup you already have as a free brightener.
Over the Summer, your skin gets very tan...Approximately 2 shades darker then your regular concealer color. Since your concealer is lighter than your skin tone, it works as a perfect highlight. What I do, is I squeeze a small bit of liquid concealer on my MAC 242 (concealer brush) and I dab a dot on my inner corners, and 2 dots under my brow bone. I then pat/blend it out with my fingers. It makes my whole face appear brighter, and more vibrant. I definitely recommend this trick to anyone who is looking for a brightener, but does not want to spend the extra $$. Hope you all are having a wonderful Friday!!

- BTW: Here is the concealer I use. It is Makeup Forever's Full Coverage Waterproof Concealer! (I'm shade 5 in case anyone was wondering)

Simple Yet Chic: Accessories/DIY

Hi Loves! We are having a HUGE heat wave here in New York. I am completely dieing from the weather! Haha! Anyway, today's blog is going to be about an accessory that is very simple but extremely cute at the same time. I wear it pretty much every day! It's also a DIY, so that's a bonus ;-).

Things You Need:

- Stretchy (thin) string.
- Beads of your favorite color

I minimized the clasp for this bracelet, which makes it so easy. All you have to do is string an assortment of your favorite pattern & colored beads, then tie a knot! (Make sure to measure your wrist first!) If you want to hide the knot, add a little ribbon around the knot to add a pop of color.

Beauty: Summer Favorites

Hi Loves! It's my last, and 4th day here in Vermont. :( I'm heading back to New York in a few hours for a 5 hour drive, yikes! Anyway, I'm so excited to blog today because I am going to be doing my Summer Favs for 2011. Here they areeee!! (I'll list them)

-Nars Silk Road Duo Eyeshadow in ''Silk Road:''I absolutely adore this product for Summer. In fact, I loved it so much I did a separate review of  it about 2 blogs down. This duo consists of 2 elegant, fun shades of pink. There is one rosy color, and a light sheer pink for all over lid. Hands down one of my favorite duos of all time. It's perfect for Summer also, because it is such a natural look!:)

-Nars Laguna Bronzer: My absolute and all time favorite bronzer! But it's even better for Summer. I love this because it gives you the most natural ''glow'' I use my Mac116 which is a smaller blush brush, and I apply it on my temples, the bridge of my nose, and the sides of my face. It doesn't make you look cakey either. I love this.

-Water: Although this is a given, I felt the need to include it because it is such an essential. Hydration during Summer is absolutely key. Especially if you are doing active things like: Swimming, Boating, Kayaking etc...I like to use just a regular water bottle, or a re-usable canteen of water.

- Havainas Flip Flops: I love these flip flops! They are SO comfortable. I have them in Black and Tan, and I absolutely love them. I wear them all the time in Summer and they are perfect for lounging around, or even strolling around the mall.

- OPI's Nail Polish in ''Sweetheart:'' This is a gorgeous light pink shade that glides on your nails. I love love love it for Summer! It gives your nails an ''innocent'' look. I use it for my fingernails.

- Essie's Nail Polish in ''Cute as a Button:'' I tend to use more light colors for my fingers, and bright colors for my toes. So this is a bright coral/pink color that looks amazing on nicely tanned Summer skin. Bright fun colors are a must!

- Luna Energy Bars: These are the best protein bars I have ever tried. I am usually very picky about protein bars because they some times taste artificial and fake...But these are far from that. They are so yummy, while being so healthy! They are the perfect treat to throw in your purse, or beach bag.

- iPod Shuffle: This is my perfect little source of music. It's portable, adorable, and convenient. You can use it while just lounging on the beach, or even taking a road trip. It clips onto your clothes so easily and you don't even have to carry it! Love this!

You guys tell me your Summer Favorites! :)

Little Obsessions - Audrey Hepburn

Hey Lovelies! So I've come up with a new name for random things that I'm currently obsessed with. It's called ''Little Obsessions.'' Let me know if you like the name!

So, Audrey Hepburn is definitely my current favorite actress! She is so beautiful, and admirable. Her movies are also classy, and classic. My favorite Hepburn movie is a tie between My Fair Lady/Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Favorite Audrey Quotes:

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."
Audrey Hepburn

"Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!"
Audrey Hepburn

Here is also my ultimate favorite and classic picture of her in Breakfast at Tiffany's:

I'm in Vermont!

Hi Loves! I am currently in Vermont, yay! The scenery here is amazing. My Aunt owns 3 cabins on a property right on the edge of Lake Champlain. The lake is so clear, and we even have our own little personal edge on the lake. The town of Charlotte is so fun and cute! it is super country, super small, as if it never left the 1940's. It is also super close to the beautiful town of Burlington/UVM. :) I love this town because it is so quiet, and has that nice ''at home'' feel! Since we are right near a Lake there are so many things to do...Including Kayaking, Swimming, Boating and so much more. I even took a little morning bike ride down to the beach! It's gorgeous here.

Here is a picture of Lake Champlain (the view that we get straight from our cabin window)

Beauty: Would You Rather?

Hi Lovelies! It is such a beautiful Summer day here in NYC. I decided to do this tag because it sounded like so much fun. So definitely check it out :) I'll link the questions down below so if any of you would like to do the tag as well, you are more then welcome to!

  1. Would you rather walk around all day with you skirt tucked in your underwear or be seen wearing a really see through dress? Be seen wearing a really see through dress! Although everyone could ''somewhat'' see your ''parts'' I think it is so much better, instead of your butt falling all over the place. Plus, you could somehow cover yourself up with the see through dress, you can't really cover your tucked in underwear!
  2. Would you rather go to a party and not realize until the end of the night that you have lipstick on your teeth or that your fake lashes are coming unglued? Lipstick on teeth! Although the fake lashes part would never apply to me, considering I don't wear fake lashes. But that would be much more embarrassing! At least if you have lip stick on your teeth you just don't smile. :)
  3.  Would you rather forget to put mascara on one eye or forget blush on one side of your face? Mascara! My lashes are naturally really dark and some times, I don't even wear mascara. Whereas, since I have quite dark skin the blush would really show up.
  4. Would you rather wear lipstick/lipliner combo or frosty blue eyeshadow? I would definitely wear the frosty blue eyeshadow. At least you could play it up a little bit! But light lipstick, and dark lipliner you can't make look good at all.
  5. Would you rather wear foundation that is two shades too light or go way overboard on bronzer? Hmm, this is a tough one...But I would have to say wearing foundation two shades too light. Because foundation blends really well into your skin, so I don't think it would be extremely noticeable. Whereas, bronzer would be dark spots all over your face.
  6. Would you rather drink an entire bottle of ketchup or run into the guy who broke your heart on a bad hair day when your skin is freaking out? Eww ketchup! Definitely running into the guy that broke my heart on a bad hair day and when my skin is freaking out. Because I wouldn't really care to look good since he hurt me! Plus, it would most likely just be a ''pass-by'' and he would hardly notice.
  7. Would you rather be able to date any celeb you wanted or wake up with perfect red carpet-worthy hair? Wake up with perfect red-carpet worthy hair. First off, I don't really have any ''celeb dream'' plus, I would HATE being followed around by the paparazzi 24/7! But who wouldn't LOVE red carpet worthy hair every morning? :)
  8. Would you rather your armpits smell musky or like delicious lasagna? This is a kind of irrelevant question? But, I would chose delicious lasagna. Because musky armpits? That's just gross.
  9. Would you rather give up your makeup or cell phone for one year? Cell phone. I love my cell phone, but I could not live without my makeup for a year. I would be so insecure!
  10. Would you rather run into a cute guy you like with food all in your grill or no makeup at all? No makeup at all. Because I think it's fine to show a guy you all ''naturally'' haha, it would not be best, but oh well. Plus, if you end up dating him he is bound to see you without makeup anyway!

Review: Nars Silk Road Duo

Hello Lovelies!
This is my review on the Nars ''Silk Road'' Duo eyeshadow. This consists of two rosy/pink colors that are perfect for Summer, or even just going out. The lighter pink color is extremely sheer, so I use it as a highlight (under brow, and inner corners). The rosy color I use as an all-over-lid shade, I love it! The only downside is the chunks of glitter..the shade is beautiful, but the glitter is so amateur. So what I do, is before I am applying the shade I tap my brush on the side and all the glitter falls off! Revealing a beautiful rosy color. :) I love this duo for Summer, and highly recommend it for a natural pink look.
